An
outdoor cattery with heated indoor sleeping accomodation
- more space for your cat than most completely indoor catteries
A small cattery with only eleven units - we have deliberately aimed for space
and not numbers. A picture of our new family units is at the bottom of this
page.
We are able to accommodate up to four cats from a single household in three
of the units and up to two from one household in seven units. There is a separate
weekend unit suitable for one cat. Away from the other units, we can accommodate
a cat with FIV.
The sleeping accommodation in each unit is fitted with a panel heater that is thermostatically controlled. Owners are welcome to bring their cat's own bedding, although Vetbed Gold is provided as standard throughout. This material is soft, warm and easy to clean, being highly suitable for cats with skin allergies.
Cats without pre-existing medical conditions (and feline leukaemia, unless vaccinated) are covered for up to £850 veterinary expenses by Brookes Braithwaite Insurance. All cats must have a valid vaccination certificate to enter the cattery.

ADVISORY BUREAU - ADVICE ON CHOOSING A CATTERY We have learnt much in the time since we opened. Coming to a cattery can be quite an upsetting experience for many cats. The journey in the car, in a cat carrier and finally to be released in unfamiliar surroundings can be very stressful. Cats often need time and attention to be reassured - a cat that does not eat cannot be ignored. A cat that is reluctant to eat will often eat if you keep them company. Making friends with our guests is very rewarding and makes us feel that we have carried out our obligation to both cat and owner. To lower stress, we feed your cat with the same food you provide at home. There would only be an additional charge for this if it included exceptionally expensive food. Some item brought from home will carry
a familiar scent and help to settle them. A cat may not play with toys
at home, especially if they are out hunting for much of the time, however
they may appreciate something to occupy them during their stay. We provide
a scratchpost,a garden chair and toys - if required. 2009 cattery calendar

Our pet home visit service is now in its fifth year and we have looked after dogs, cats and rabbits in Bangor-on-Dee, Bradley, Brymbo, Brynteg, Bwlchgwyn, Caego, Coedpoeth, Crewe-by-Farndon, Erbistock, Farndon, Gresford, Gwersyllt, Lavister, Llangollen, Llay, Minera, Moss, New Broughton, Pandy, Pendine, Penycae, Rhosllanerchrugog, Rossett, Summerhill and Wrexham. We frequently administer medication, including insulin injections and are asked to perform tasks: such as feeding fish and watering plants. We feel it important not to advertise the fact that the occupants of the house are away. To this end, we arrive in unmarked cars for the visits. Fees for this service depend on distance and time required to perform the task. Bwlchgwyn from £2.50-3/visit, Coedpoeth from £3.50-5/visit, Wrexham from £5.50-7/visit, Rossett/Rhos from £6.50-8/visit. (These are guide prices only for short task visits) Gemma's Holiday Homes for Small Pets is now run as part of the cattery business. During the last year there has been an increase in demand for indoor accommodation, particularly rabbits. We have built an insulated and heated building able to hold several runs and hutches. The smooth walls and floors are capable of easy cleaning Please note that it is a condition of our planning consent that we do not allow our customers on to the premises between the hours of 6pm and 8.30am the next morning. ABOUT US: Gemma spent four years at Llysfasi College and the Welsh College of Horticulture studying small animals, horses and, in her final two years, animal management for which she obtained a National Diploma with Distinction. At the recommendation of the Public Protection Department at Wrexham County Borough Council, she took the Basic Hygiene Certificate. She has a love of small animals and horse riding. Margaret has a keen mind for organisation and also took the Basic Hygiene Certificate in preparation for the cattery. Margaret and Gemma look after the cattery, rabbits and guinea pigs. Graham is a healthcare professional in the medicines management field (humans). For ethical reasons he is not allowed to declare his field of expertise. Graham is the main operative in the home visit service . We keep several of our clients' house keys so that they may ring us at short notice.
